The Brew of Erosion is a throwable potion; it is a volatile acid that melts a surface when it hits one, causing all nearby blocks to be destroyed. The notable exceptions to this are obsidian, lava and water. Lava and water will be unaffected by the acid, whereas obsidian will only be broken (instead of being destroyed). If a creature or player is hit by a Brew of Erosion they will take a large amount of damage and their metal weapons and armor will be significantly damaged (this is not a splash effect). The Brew of Erosion is a great, if expensive, way to tunnel quickly (as long as you don't mind being unable to pick up the blocks!). It is also an excellent way to quickly mine obsidian (as long as the problem of the obsidian dropping into lava can be solved). |
