A leech chest is a mutated plant that has been fused with a chest, to create a hybrid being that acts like a chest but takes a blood sample from any player who opens it. The chest is created by placing a Trapped Chest on the ground and surrounding it with Vines on it's four sides. The vines must themselves be over a water source block. When the setup is complete, the chest must be hit with a Mutating Sprig to mutate the vines and the chest together. See the image on the right for the correct set up. The Leech Chest behaves like a normal Trapped Chest, although it cannot join to a second chest to become a double chest. When the Leech chest is opened, a drop of blood from the player will be stored in one of the chests three blood sacs. Blood from the last three players to open the chest will always be stored, although only one sample from each unique player. If a Taglock Kit is used on a Leech Chest that has a player's blood sample in a sac, that sample will be removed and placed into the Taglock Kit for use in the normal ways ( poppets or curses). Oddly, the chest will not allow a player to remove their own blood sample from it. Removal of a blood sample also requires the other player to be logged into the same world as the chest, although it is still possible to see the name of the player. If the Leech Chest is picked up and placed again, it will continue to store the last three blood samples it has taken. |
