![]() Infusions represent perhaps the highest tier of witchcraft, whereby the witch (or warlock) is able to capture the essence of an aspect of the world and imbue it into either an object or themselves. Magic to mediate such an infusion is complex and many safeguards are needed to avoid calamity, this is never more true than when the practitioner seeks to infuse aspects of dimensions beyond the world. Obviously, infusing the power of a dimension into oneself will provide some interesting effects, the least of which being the ability to use magic without the usual paraphernalia of spell crafting.Creation and use of an infusions is a multistage process. Creating an infusionBrewing of infusions is performed using a water-filled and heated witches kettle, into which the ingredients for a specific infusion must be thrown. Infusions always require power from a nearby altar. The process for brewing is described on the brews page.Once an infusion is complete and white swirls are issuing from the spluttering kettle, a glass bottle may be used on the kettle to bottle the infusion. Infusing an itemOnce an infusion has been created, it must actually be infused into the object. This step requires an appropriate Rite of Infusion as described in the Witchcraft: Circle Magic book.Infusing a playerOnce an infusion has been created, it must actually be infused into a player. Magical means of avoiding death are required to survive the process, and not waste the expensive ingredients. Using player infused powersSome of the powers granted by an infusion will be passive, others will need a witches hand in order to focus them. Get a witches hand off the corpse of a witch.Recharging your powerAll infusions will draw from the magical energy imbued at the time of the Rite of Infusion. When this is all used up, most of the powers will cease to function. To recharge this power level (shown on the screen as a power bar) a Rite of Charging must be used as described in the book, Witchcraft: Circle Magic. |
