Rite of Remove Curse

Variants of the Rite of Remove Curse are some of the only known way to cure a player (or creature) inflicted with a Curse of Misfortune, a Curse of Insanity or any of the other known curses. Removing the Curse of the Wolf, does require a little more knowledge however. The rite is also incidentally the only way to make the curses worse. To perform the rite, a taglock from the cursed being must be collected with a Taglock Kit and used as a foci in the rite.

The Rite of Remove Curse is one of only two ways to convert a player from being a Vampire. The other way requires a Demon's intervention.

If the rite is successful, white particle effects will be seen in the circle. If the rite fails, fiery effects will be seen, and the curse affecting the player (or creature) will get worse.

If the witch or warlock performing the Rite of Remove Curse is as skilled as the player who cast the curse, there is a good chance the curse will be removed. If their skill is less (and the curse has become stronger) the chance of curing the curse will drop dramatically, requiring significantly more attempts to perform the cure, with each failure causing the curse to strengthen! The cure only needs to succeed once for the complete curse (irrespective of how strong it has become) to be removed.

This rite will start one level higher if cast by a witch or warlock with a Cat familiar.

The circles, foci items and power needs of this rite, like all other rites, can be found in the book, Witchery: Circle Magic.
