The familiar is very tough, although it does very little, if any, damage. When a Spectral Familiar dies it will drop Spectral Dust. A summoned familiar will follow its summoner, or if right-clicked on will sit and stay until clicked again. Searching for oresIf given a metal ingot, coal, redstone, lapis lazuli, an emerald or a diamond, the familiar will try to sniff out ore containing the given (or similar) material. If it finds any, the familiar will sit and make a noise. The ore will be located somewhere below where the familiar is sitting. The familiar will take on a slightly different color when searching for ores.
This searching skill may be used multiple times, but each time costs one of the materials, and after the first time there is an increasing chance that the familiar will simply disappear, taking a potentially valuable item with it! |
